yeah i once went through an anti-feminism phase when I thought all women were inferior and way out of line. then i had enough boyfriends and said you know what f**k this if we're going to turn into monsters men deserve it.
I think the world would be much better off if both genders took equal responsibility for everything. BOTH parents should be responsible for raising their kids, BOTH parents should be able to work if they chose. In the end, it's up to the individuals to decide how things are divided in their life. I just think we need to end gender stereotyping. You can't expect anything to change if boys and girls are raised with a preset ideal for how they should be; girls should wear dresses and makeup, be feminine, play with dolls, boys must be 'manly', dress certain ways, play with -boy- toys, trucks and such. It's a two way street now with the way society is changing. I think we're gradually getting there.
You actually make the most sense of anybody else on this board. I as raised by both parents who both worked. It is not a matter of which parents raise who it is HOW the child is raised by both and or even one parent if they are divorced or someone has passed away. Women or men they both have difficulties in life.
Has anyone here noticed that a lot of femenists actually end up sexist against men? For women to be equal, they have to treat men equally too.
Anyway, I was raised by my mum and my dad, and they are both fulltime schoolteachers. Yet, my mum does all the cleaning, and my dad does all the cooking. And me and my sister turned out great, better than great actually.

I agree completely. Women also don't seem to realize that they have some privileges that men lack and for all the protesting and fighting they've done to gain the same rights we men have they've done little to even the playing field on their side as well.

Being a woman isn't easy. Trying to look nice, on top of going to work, on top of everything else seems nearly impossible at times.
I don't find it the least bit surprising that society went to shit after sexism left the picture. The fact of the matter is that children were actually RAISED back then, instead of ignored or put on the back burner. My mother did a terrible job raising me, BECAUSE she was so worried about going to work and trying to pay the bills after a DIVORCE (from my dad after he lost his JOB). I turned into a pretty good kid, but my mother doesn't get credit for that. Had I not been able to teach myself the ways of the world, I would have turned into a little slut like the rest of the women my age.
I'm sorry, but parenting will always be our most important job. If that means you have to forget a few dreams, GET over it or don't have kids. Keep an eye on your children for God sakes, no 18 year old kid is ready to have a baby.
Who are you to say if someone is ready for kids or not? Trying to look nice? If you can't get used to the way you look and now whats appropriate that's your own damn fault. You using looking nice as a stressful excuse? Come on. Being a woman in this generation is not hard. Being a guy on the other hand is. Any stupid slut nowadays can raise a finger and a guy can go to jail. If you LOOK like your a violent man you are judged and discriminated. Women are BABIED in the present time. I know A LOT of 18 year old men and women that are mature enough for children. Financially maybe not but my mom had me at 19 and she turned out fine.

DOES ANYONE REALISE THAT THIS AD IS FAKE? THEREFORE, QUIT YOUR YAPPING ABOUT GENDER ISSUES, BECAUSE THERE WAS NEVER AN AD MADE LIKE THIS IN THE FIFTIES, THEY NEVER WENT THAT FAR IN THEIR REDUCTION OF THE FEMININE GENDER! I'TS QUITE CLEAR THAT THE TYPE USED IS A MODERN ONE, THAT DIDN'T EXIST YET AT THE TIME. IT'S FIVE SECONDS WORTH OF PHOTOSHOP!!!!! JEEEZ
In response to all of these posts- If men... well guys from my generation (y) would step up to the plate- get real jobs, make real money and stop playing beer pong for 5 minutes I would HAPPILY stay home to cook, sew, clean... all day. What's more fun than baking cookies with munchkins? And yes I know little kids are not all sunshine and rainbows, they are hard work, I take care of other peoples all day. Until you can hold up that end you bet I'm gonna work- long hard hours. I'm not going to be destitute because ur too busy having fun being the eternal college student.
In response to the picture- F-ing funny! If you have any sense of humor and even the slightest sense of when not to take life too seriously, just plain funny.
"Think for yourselves and teach your children to think for themselves."? Have you ever considered what would happen if people actually did this? For one thing, it would mean the end of all religions. For another it would be the death knell of politics as we know it today. Then consider the effect on professional sports, TV, movies, etc. What are you trying to do? Bring about the end of civilization as we know it?
My kids are adults now. I worked the entire time they were growing up. Not because I really wanted to. I was raised to believe you stayed home and took care of the kids and house. I grew up realizing that we could never afford kids or a house if we both didn't work. Was it a struggle to do both? Bet your ass it was. But I don't regret having my kids, my house or my career. Now, as my kids are grown, I have a career that affords me to take trips, and live out my dreams. If I had been able to wait until my kids were grown, it would have been too late to have the career I have now. Sad truth is, a lot of places don't like to hire older people who have no skills. My kids grew up to be courteous, generous, hard working adults as well. However, all that said..the pic at the top cracked me up anyway.
Propaganda. The U.S. government in the past has had a lot of ad campaign stuff like this that we look back on and laugh about. They dictated how the sheeple thought and chose to live their lives. It really is more brainwashing than anything. It's still going on today. The media tells the vast majority of the people how to live and act. If the people who run this world wanted this society to still consist of a woman who only stayed home and reared the family, it would all still be this way. Mtv tells your kids how to act and behave. TV and movies dictate how everyone looks at ethnic groups in our society. We see what roles women are supposed to take. We see what roles blacks are supposed to take(see Cops). We see hispanics as clowns, cooks, or gang members. We see the new Indian community in america in only a good light because Big Brother wants them to be accepted by you. You really can't watch a minute of TV or movies these days without seeing an Indian. Ask yourselves why? Look for them you see I'm not overexagerating. We went decades without any people of color on TV. The Hispanic population has overtaken the blacks and they are still grossly underrepresented in TV and films. Indians must just be better actors huh? They look remarkably alike the two peoples so why use Indians?
Do you think it was a coincidence that mainstream primetime TV had shows with both a Black president and a woman president years before we actually ended up having one? We're being conditioned every day in every way. Think for yourselves and teach your children to think for themselves. Try to see what's really going on and what bs Big Brother is trying to brainwash you with.
I find it pathetic how all these men comment here telling women that they are selfish for following their dreams. How about this? Next time you accidentaly get a women pregnent, leave your job, stop following your dreams, dedicate all your time to taking care of this women and the baby, while she goes and works and lives on her life long dreams.
Why don't we change the roles huh? You guys complain about more marriages ending in divorce because both people work? Well prehaps its your turn now, you be the stay home dad and let the women do the work. Soon you'll be told that all your good for is the kitchen and the bedroom and apart from that your a pathetic less of a human.
Will you see it as the same then? Will you call yourself selfish if you deccide you want equal rights to women? Think about that! Jerks.
Let me guess: you aren't in the Honors English program at your Jr. High?

I find it interesting that so many men posting here are so furious that women are so selfish as to pursue their dreams, but never consider that the burden of child-rearing could be shared. The whole "Family obligation" thing doesn't need to be such a conformist sin, but a woman should just as much right to choose to do something with her life as the next man, She doesn't have to be a bad mom to do that, but it is a shame that it's such a Feminine thing and the the man's role in the house work isn't emphasized the way woman's are.

yeah I thought it was funny too till I read the comments here
The fact this IS NOT true anymore is what's wrong with America now.....having women out of the house has destroyed the institutions of marriage, caused the current high divorce rates, our kids don't have any respect and are so snotty, and the current record high male unemployment.
Philup, I'd like to see what high-ranking scientific study has been done to link career women to destroyed marriages. And are you saying that when women work, their husbands can't handle it and leave the marriage? Are you saying that men are more forced to raise children and as a result are disrespectful?
